Description: Star Dynasties is a strategy game that channels the character and family centric vibes of Crusader Kings and puts them on a galactic-scale. Having released in September 2021 after some time in Early Access, the game does a great job of allowing the player to build their own stories, using countless events and character interactions to drive the machinations of the various egos at play. After some time with Star Dynasties in Early Access, I decided to come back to it after watching the new Dune film - I wanted a game that captured that same focus on a feudal system in a sci-fi universe, a game that captured the idea of family, betrayal, loyalty and honour, but put it in an unfamiliar space. Star Dynasties went under many-a-radar, including my own, but it's definitely one of the more interesting strategy games that released in 2021.
